DESCRIPTION ON THE
PROGRAM:
We conducted a workshop on “A Brief
introduction to Foldscopy” in the Government Secondary School, Nehru Nagar,
Coimbatore. Essentially we planned how to assemble the Foldscope and understand
the various applications, with a very creative introductory session. The
students had to introduce themselves in a novel way. It created an intensive
educational experience among the students from sixth, seventh and eighth
standard. Sixty students along with three staffs were participated in the
event. Students were encouraged to observe the prepared slides through
Foldscope. That gave them a new perspective methods used in laboratory and
inspired them to be innovative in their own ways.

Awareness on "Food Safety & Personal Hygiene to Road Side Food Vendors" & Flodscope (Outreach Activity)
Department has organized Outreach Activity on : Awareness about "Food Safety & Personal Hygiene to Road Side Food Vendors" & Flodscope under DBT Star Scheme & DBT Foldscope Scheme at Veeriyampalayam and Kalapatti Villages. In this activity totally 60 students from III B.Sc., Microbiology accompanying with Dr.A.M. Ramachandran & Dr. J. Devakumar staff members actively participated and spread the awareness to the general public about food safety and personal hygiene, also they given knowledge on foldscope usage and observation of microbes through foldscope to the public.

Bee Keeping Workshop (2019-20)
On 17th July 2019 Dr.S.S.Sudha, CDC Coordinator & DBT Star Overall Coordinator (Dr.N.G.P. Arts and Science College), and Students from participating departments including microbiology students attended the "Bee Keeping" workshop at Nilgiri Biosphere National Park (NBNP), Anaikatti Organized by PSGR Krishnammal College for Women.
