Department has organized under DBT Star Scheme Invited Lecture by  Dr.B.Ananakumar, Scientist, Indira Gandhi Center for Atomic Reserach, Klapakkam, Chennai. The topic on " Biofilms and its Control- With Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics Tools".

Awareness on "Food Safety & Personal Hygiene to Road Side Food Vendors" & Flodscope (Outreach Activity)

Department has organized Outreach Activity on : Awareness  about "Food Safety & Personal Hygiene to Road Side Food Vendors" & Flodscope under DBT Star Scheme & DBT Foldscope Scheme at Veeriyampalayam and Kalapatti Villages. In this activity totally 60 students from III B.Sc., Microbiology  accompanying with  Dr.A.M. Ramachandran & Dr. J. Devakumar staff members actively participated and spread the awareness to the general public  about food safety and personal hygiene, also they given knowledge on foldscope usage and observation of microbes through foldscope to the public.

Bee Keeping Workshop (2019-20)

On 17th July 2019 Dr.S.S.Sudha, CDC Coordinator & DBT Star Overall Coordinator (Dr.N.G.P. Arts and Science College), and Students from participating departments including microbiology students attended the "Bee Keeping" workshop at Nilgiri Biosphere National Park (NBNP), Anaikatti Organized by PSGR Krishnammal College for Women.

Department of Microbiology conducted an in-house lecture on “Isolation and Identification of Bioactive compounds from Natural resources" and "ELISA Techniques" for our students on 19/07/2019 under DBT Star college scheme.
